Season after season, celebrity and top hairstylists, nail artists, and makeup artists flock to New York, London, Milan and Paris to create the new trends that we'll work into our looks for months to come. This years' focus for the fall/winter 2024 shows were on big hair, full glam, and modern takes on braids. Ahead, the top beauty trends from each major fashion week.

Protective styles were reimagined at LaPointe and Ulla Johnson, where braids were twirled into side buns and low buns for added texture and depth.

Large and in-charge hair took over at The Blonds and Marc Jacobs. Hair was seen sitting on top of the head and was almost more powerful that the looks that sat below them. Still coming out of the pandemic, it was great to see an emphasis on full, big and bold hair.

London

At Molly Goddard, J.W. Anderson and Simone Rocha, models displayed puckered, red-brushed lips. The punchy pouts were paired with medium-coverage makeup, to stand out amongst a crowd.

Bare It All

Healthy skin is the foundation of every good makeup look and at Emilia Wickstead and Tolu Coker, glassy skin was so beautiful and minimalist, it barely needed makeup.

Embellished Brows

Slicked brows, thin brows, or glazed brows — there's no denying that eyebrows have been having a moment for several seasons. London decided to take it up a notch with Simone Rocha and Jawara Alleyne showing us that brows could take on a 3D shape, adorn with rosettes, pearls and sequence.

Milan

Side-Part It

Contrary to Gen-Z's beloved middle path, Milan Fashion Week proved that the fall season will be covered in shiny side parts. Blame it on Y2K nostalgia or the sophisticated look, but side parts were seen at Max Mara, Fendi and Prada. With a bit of hair gel or hairspray, you too can achieve the look.

Colorful Brows

Milan took a page from London fashion week and made brows a priority as well. Instead of embellishments, they went for bold color, as seen at Del Core.

Romantic Finger Waves

Hollywood might be in California but in the streets of Milan, we saw a different take shooting Italy to the top of romantic finger waves. Softly curled in a sidesweep blowout, delicate finger waves were added for texture.

Paris

Eyeshadow lovers, it's your time to shine. Seen at Christian Dior and several other shows throughout the mouth, inner eyeshadow made a big splash.

I Can Keep a Secret

Over at Chanel and Saint Laurent, runway models walked down with large bows, hats and scarves covering their hair. Whether you're having a bad hair day or just want to accent your day, a large hat or full-coverage scarf will work for you.
